The latest Absolute Sound mag has a review and big pics of the Reference CD7's guts.
It has a thick grey/black tape like substance applied over the top exposed metal of each capacitor and the transformer.
Anyone know what it is? Mumetal? Navcom damping compound? Some other damping compound?
The tubes have damping rings around them that actually look similar in color.
