Anyone having problems with their optical mouse? - Page 2

I remember reading that optical mice didn't like black surfaces a while ago... it's possible that your mouse isn't reading well from the pad surface. I ditched my pad at work a while ago and it seems to work very well straight on the desk's wood surface. I'm not getting carpal tunnel or anything like that yet.

I'm using an old-skool Microsoft ball mouse at home... I guess this mouse should last a long, long time, if I keep the ball and surface clean.

Laser mice have had problems with some mousepads. These issues were resolved with firmware updates. That is what I was referring to.
