Arctic Monkeys - Riot Van
Heinali - Brave Little Heart
I discovered that Heinali has a YouTube channel and ended up listening to this song again. I've been working on a piano piece recently that I was inspired to write after listening to Steve Reich after having not heard his music in a while. Tonally the song is however more reminiscent of piano pieces by Philip Glass, mainly his Metamorphosis. After listening to this song again, I now realize that compositionally it is however most akin to Heinali's minimal style here, even if I wasn't conscious of it before now. I guess I would consider it a crossbreed between Brave Little Heart and Metamorphosis, with my own personal touches. I thought this half-jokingly at first, but the more time has gone on, the more I'm beginning to think the kind of music I want to play is something I'd like to refer to as "progressive minimalism". It sounds like a funny concept, but it's very representative of how my mind works, refusing to focus on one direction for too long and seeking stability, yet at the same time craving it.
I emptied my 160GB classic because I ran out of space for FLAC, so now I'm slowly replacing everything with 320kbps MP3. As such, I've been able to rediscover a few old albums from the first couple letters of the alphabet the last two days, including this one:
Everything All The Time by Band of Horses
Haunting and beautiful.

Above audio quality does not do the instrument justice, so here is more from this great artist:
