Well, you're starting with one of the quintessential jazz albums. Perhaps the most iconic. And, I'm mostly a rock guy. That album is cited as one of the most influential of all times. Many classic rock icons list it as a primary influnece.

I'm definitely new to jazz, I've also been a rock/metal guy my whole life. I've been mostly into prog rock and prog metal like Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater, Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant, Rush and many others in that genre. Lately, mostly the past month, I've been trying to get into Jazz. I started off with some Norah Jones, and some Diana Krall and I've just been going from there. I started this thread a couple weeks ago and have been getting suggestions from there.


Also grabbed this today too, and I am listening to this one as I type now. I got both used in mint condition for $4.99 each, so 10 bucks very well spent.

Cool-we have similar tastes. I need to pick up some more jazz, too. There's just too much other things that keep getting my attention.
