Wait, what's this? Dr. House serenading me in his accent? I need to check this out.

I still love that song. That show is probably one of the larger factors as to why I decided to go into the medical field.

I love Massive Attack too, I discovered them and heard teardrop "Hey that's the House theme!"

Same thing happened with RJD2 and the Mad Men Theme.

"Exposure" by Robert Fripp. This ain't easy listening but sure is worth the effort. One of my top 10.

This (live) Schubert D959 by the Alfred Brendel .....stunning..

Reminds me of the greatness of this pianist, whom I somehow took for granted lately, mprobably because this good man has been around forever ..

This is a re-release of last year's Christmas album, with 2 new songs: Little Drummer Boy, and Go Tell It On The Mountain.

Little Drummer Boy is the favorite so far. Last year's favorite was Carol of the Bells (which is just awesome).

The album is worth it for those two songs alone.

I hit the Buy button. I couldn't help it.

Iiro Rantala - Lost Heroes

I've felt really inspired to listen to Iiro Rantala these past couple of days. This particular album features him playing solo and is dedicated to people who have been inspirational to his music but have sadly passed on, "Lost Heroes". The song "Tears for Esbjörn" in particular is dedicated to fellow jazz pianist Esbjörn Svensson who was a dear friend, and whose passing left Iiro depressed for months, having a dramatic impact on his music which really shows on this album. Lost Heroes won the respected German ECHO Award in 2011 for being the recording of the year.

The third video differs quite a lot from the performance that is on the album but such is the nature of jazz, and man is it an exceptional performance! I only heard it for the first time yesterday and can't get enough of it.
