Nice sound, nice babes!
I like the Takács Quartet for Beethoven,
A fanatic, No (lol) , although in my collection and buying history they and this recording represent the genere , for me .
I try not to burn out on any one genre and do enjoy visiting them all while trying to appreciate performances of all types of
musicianship ( an eclectic listener) !
Though, I can appreciate your well taken P.O.V. and would prolly find myself in agreement If at one time I were
a contemporary listening fan of theirs in the mid 90's !
Whereas , I came to them in '99 and still do find their concept albums and performance recordings very well done listening experiences !
This being a powerful and well recorded (clean / spacious / w atmosphere and separation , w my listening gear ) interesting representation of the genre
for this child of the (eye-roll) 50's - 60's ;')
Y.T. is interesting for a taste of a potential listening experience , though visually I do enjoy imagining
being at such a powerful performance with seeing our musicians performing such complex works .. .
Happy listenings ~
Nice. I have that one and some of the other Dave's Picks series too. You just inspired me to put on "Tennesee Jed" from that one.
