The CD even though I bought the vinyl today because I still haven't heard a word of my turntable. I've upgraded every component in my system since I last heard this album so it definitely sounded different from how I remember. It's really well recorded but the dynamics are a bit too squashed during the loudest parts. Hopefully the LP doesn't suffer from this.

I can't wait. I'm still not too certain of the release format. I really do wish they release a physical copy of the game rather than just in digital.  I can honestly say that I've had a hard time trying to get used to the controls. I struggled even on 'Easy', lol. I do blame the fact that I haven't played my PS3 in a long while, but I am getting a hang of it and have gotten passed the 'Easy' difficulty.

I haven't heard this album. I only own four of their albums, will give this a listen before I buy it though. :)

And still no word on your turntable? I hope you get it soon.

Thanks for the info

I discovered APP when I was in the 9th grade (in 1979 smile.gif). My first album was Turn of a Friendly Card. I haven't stopped listening to them since.

I would prefer a physical release as well but at least it's being released, which is the main thing. I haven't tried the demo so I'm not sure if I'll like the control scheme, but hopefully the game gives enough feedback on how well you are doing while you are concentrating on the patterns. Well, with enough practice one can achieve pretty much anything. I should know, I played Amplitude until I beat it on insane difficulty. Took me a few years, but I was able to do it in the end.

It's perhaps not quite one of my favorite albums from the group, but I really wanted to have at least one vinyl in my collection to represent Dream Theater. Apart from a few of their most recent albums many of the albums in the group's discography haven't even ever been released on vinyl, which is truly a shame. I believe this might apply to the two albums I really remember liking - Octavarium and Metropolis Pt. 2 - but hopefully they will see a vinyl release at some point in the future. Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence was actually released for the very first time on vinyl only last month. If you end up liking the album and also like Octavarium, I would recommend checking out the band's live album Score, which features mainly music from both albums backed by a real live orchestra.

Just finished listening to this. This album is brutal. I like it.
