Byrds Cancelled Flytes 45 singles box set, with stupid holes in the middle, very annoying but lovely set.
Needledropping all my singles.

Alcest-

Les Voyages de L'ame

One of the nice things about purchasing a new HP and speaker system rig at the same time, is comparing....slowly going through my CD collection. 2012's Alcest release sounds great on my Grado 225i's. Oftimes labeled as Blackgaze (shoegaze and BM) or bliss metal....to me it's just very ethereal, shimmering rock music with a few jagged edges.

Agreed.

Their melodies can seem a little banal at times, but they produce some excellent sound scapes. Especially on that last one.

I've got a mother of a headache, so no sharp sounds today.

I like it almost as background music when I'm on the computer, or messing around the house. +1 on The Pearl-good choice, also. Groups like Alcest and Neurosis have lead me on a most enjoyable exploration into ambient music this year including Eno and Swans....cheers.

Good stuff.

Then of course you've heard the Neurosis & Jarboe album?

Even thinking about it gives me shivers.
