Strikes a chord of identification and appreciation supreme being a favorite 8 track in my teens

(a collection then in total of some 20 tapes ;')!

Funny tho,   music being the catalyst that transports us in time like this recording does so very well in my experience ...

Santana - ABRAXAS

Abraxas : the name of the God in Herman Hesse's book "Demian". The God who is master of all the good and all the evil in this world.

- Consistant with my view that god is ALL ;')

"Heart O Glass"

I remember when that came out. What a great album!

I agree that's a great album. It was Blondie's breakthrough album as far as popularity.

Unfortunately, I think for a lot of folks, that album is where their Blondie-listening begins. That's a real shame in my book, because I think both albums that came before it are as good and arguably better than that one. The first one, just called, 'Blondie,' released in '76, is near-perfect. It seems everybody's heard 'Parallel Lines,' but far too few people have heard the first two, 'Blondie' and 'Plastic Letters.'

I saw Blondie in concert after 'Parallel Lines' came out at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA. The opening band was Rockpile with Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds. I think this was in '79.

The air conditioning broke in the theater. Deborah Harry was wearing the white dress featured on the cover of 'Parallel Lines.' It was blazing hot in the theater, so by the second song Deborah Harry was completely drenched, and the white dress had become completely see-through. No guy who was at that show will ever forget it. wink.gif biggrin.gif
