Help me choose a High-End Headphone: HP1000, K1000, or Omega II? - Page 3

The OP has stated a clear preference for the Grado sound; bringing the HD650 into it isn't a good idea IMO since you really can't find something more diametrically opposed sonically.

Personally, I like the HD650, but it's not on the same level as the really world-class headphones (HE90, R10, etc...). I don't think this will be a step up from the RS-1, just a step sideways.

However, it will be a different sound signature, so it could be worth experimenting with. In that case, however, I would suggest geting the HD600, as it's more neutral.

Only suggestion is to make sure you get an amp that is worthy of the Omega 2. Only because in my experience, I can listen to the HP1000 and K 1000 out of cheap amps, but I only like the O2 out of good ones. But when it's a good one, man oh man, it's worth it.

Sorry about your wallet.

I agree, except I'd put the K-1000 with the O2 as far as needing a good (usually expensive) amp before it really starts to sound good.
