I see. Should be interesting to see how you like it. Hope it works out good for you!

Did you read that somewhere or measure it yourself? I haven't seen the Woo amps power output stated anywhere.

Thanks

the wa6 is not a high gain amp putting out 2 watts...most likely
0.5 watts power...

I read it in a review that was linked from Woo Audio's site.
abi>>forums - View Single Post - WooAudio 6 Review

They list the tech specs on the bottom which they said came from Woo Audio so I dunno. I'll shoot them a email and see.

How about that review Michael Alvin?

WA6 stock versus LD MKIV SE

I voted to keep the Woo 6 and send back the LD. I felt the Woo was slightly more refined, musical and transparent than the LD. That is my opinion with the Senn 600's', the Grados and the AKG 701's. However the differences were minor, the LD being rather a bargain for the price.

Cool, good to hear

Just based on reliability I would choose the wa6. I had 2 little dots, a 2+ and 2++, and both ended up having problems such as cold solder joints (2++), burned resistors(2++), intermittent headphone socket(2+), arching output tubes (2+) and the power LED indicator failed (2++). I think the woo has much better quality control IMO.

Well this thread is 2 months old, but anyway, the LD's have much improved since, and as you can see on the LD website they show pictures of all their components. Further more I haven't heard a single complaint about the MK series' quality ever since they were released.

I did a Google search a found this thread. I didn't realize how old it was. Oh well. I should look at the dates before I add my comments. Such is life

I heard the Woo2 and the Little Dot MKlll the same day, and the Woo2 trounced it..........but it better, its alot more expensive...lol.
Nice amps though for their prices each.

The most amazing thing occured to me today, my NAD M5 has actually a better DAC than my Zero Nah seriously, to a WooAudio 2 its a very unfair comparison.

This thread is interesting for me as I've always read about DV, LD & WA in isolation and never know how they stack up against each other, though I'm sure these are all fairly good stuffs.

Tubed amp design already requires higher maintenance than SS amps, so I have some bias against products from smaller Chinese factories in terms of added reliability issues. The saving in initial cost may not amount to much if there's a high chance of getting a lemon, plus TCO with tube rolling at record high prices.

On the other hand, as much as I like WA's timeless aesthetics & great workmanship, I often wonder if the amps are optimized for the upgraded options or the stock? Some of the most respected hifi amps on the market like Naim, Shinden, LFD etc are optimized through hearing and not sticking the most expensive & highest spec parts into the design like ordering a DELL PC online.

I've heard enough maxed out mods that a strips the stock unit of it's musically engaging characteristics. Will be great if anyone here have live with both stock & upgraded WA amps beyond quick A/B care to share their experience.

Thats a very good question your asking, it may get more attention if you start it in a new thread though!

Trounced it? That's like saying kosher salt trounces table salt.
