Help> I want to convert my extra stock HD650 cable to a 10 foot extension cord by cutting off the left and right pins and adding a 1/4 inch female jack. *OR is there a cheaper way) What is one of the best jacks to use and most importantly, who can do the work as I have hand tremors and can not solder the stock HD650 cables. Thanks in advance for all ideas.....

The 650 cable probably has enamel coating on the wires - meaning that you'd have to scrape off the enamel before you solder.
As for the plug and jack, I personally like Neutrik products, but there are other great companies out there like Switchcraft and Canare.
Personally, I'd save your 650 cable for a rainy day, and buy some Canare Star Quad cable (or other 4-conductor cable). It's relatively inexpensive (~$0.40 /ft.) and it's great cable that's easy to work with. Check out the interconnect sticky at the top of the page.

You might want to save your cable just for the sake of something happening to a new cable...
I would do it but I am not sure how good it would turn out because it would be one of my first few soldering times
You could also consider buying an extension like the grado 15 foot one but then it costs 40 bucks
