This got confusing quick! QFT is Quoted for Truth, that's why I couldn't understand getting offended by "for". I never heard Quite Fkuincg True before.

See...this is why we need to discuss things and not jump to conclusions (wish my ex-wife and I could have taken that advice). Communication is key!
I got the acronym definition from Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QFT

This is what happens when we are so lazy and take shortcuts. Wars could be waged between countries due to misunderstandings.

In other forums I've used, its also used as "quit f***ing talking". This is also listed on Wikipedia. Acronyms gone bad.

Man, did this thread get accidentally hijacked or what. I'm sorry, my question isn't important anymore, lets focus on the amazing product at hand that I will buy at the first chance I can afford...

Haha, I had to look up QFT today on Wikipedia also because I was seriously wondering what Quantum Field Theory had to do with Anything!

I think most people would use QFT as "Quoted for truth" and nothing else. So, STFU and keep this thread on topic.

QFT has always meant Quote For Truth, to me.

Anything about a charging dongle on the iPod line out? Any specs on the included lineout either?

X2! I'm loving my 4g iMod and not looking back! Although I must say kudos for taking this to the next level. Personally speaking, although I believe that the V-cap 5g imods sound spectacular, I'm sticking with my squeezebox and VDA DAC, etc. setup. Once Ken settles on a well thought out way of making the V-cap dock portable, we'll talk upgrade

Edit: irrelevant even before I wrote it, d'oh! As I hit the back button and continued to read, it was literally two posts after! Leaving this here for all you to have a chuckle @ my expense.

Now about those pictures of the vcap portable...

How would this work????????

Hey Ken,

They look great, congrats!!!!
Just one question, how would this work? Would I have to still purchase an IMOD Dock Cable to connect it to the Vcap Dock and then a mini to mini to connect to the amp? I'm just a little confused at how this is going to work. Also what cables can we use if we are using an IMOD?

Thanks in advance,

Izzy

Hey Izzy,

The way this works is that you have your 5th gen iMod, and you take any iPod line out dock to mini cable (with the L/R/Gnd pins enabled) to connect the iMod to the V-Cap Dock. Then, you'll need another cable, such as a mini to mini, to connect your V-Cap Dock to any amplifier with a mini input. Alternatively, you can use the RCA outputs to output to an amplifier with RCA inputs, or you can mix and match RCA-to-mini and vice versa, and it should still work fine.

As I understand it, the V-Cap dock includes an iPod Line Out Dock to Mini cable, so the only other cable you'd need to supply is the output from the V-Cap Dock.

It is important to note that you do NOT use an IMOD Line out dock cable here, with the built in black gate caps inside. I don't know if this is harmful but it is certainly redundant. Instead, the V-cap dock houses the capacitors, so basically you just need a "wire" from the iMod to the caps.

Looks great, Ken!

Looks nice...Anyone thought about building the V-caps for a 5G iMod into an amp? Would be a bit more space-efficient and less interconnects...

With a tiny amp like a XIN the whole package could probably be roughly iPod-sized.
