One - Charging is going to increase the over all dimensions of the enclosure and I wanted to give this the smallest foot print possible, Two – adding a charging circuit would add about $100 to the cost of the device because I would need to make a cable that connects to the iPod, and a bunch of wiring to the device with sockets and add a PS Three – I do not like the possibility to introduce line noise. In addition, Four (and most importantly) – I wanted this to be a portable device away from any wall sockets. Therefore, the configuration is simple; a Mini input on one side and a mini out AND RCA outs on the other side. I am going to make a deticated cable that will come included with the purchase to the device, however if you have a standard Ipod Dock cable that will also work. If you want to use it with your home AMP, just use some RCA cables.

This would mean using a power supply if you were wondering.

I could not agree with you more. Battery power is awesome

That applies to the device. I am talking about the included line out dock. Once again, NOT the actual Vcap dock that Ken's quote is referring too. I am not going to say it again.

Ken - could you give me an idea of the size of the V-cap dock - will it be the size of the Tomahawk, the Hornet or the SR-71?

What am I...10 years old? Whaddya mean your not going to say it again.? That was nasty.

When you say, and I quote: "Why can we not add this charging function into it for "a small fee" like $85?" where else would it go if not in the V-Cap assembly this is what I responded to. Sorry if I'm not Kreskin and didn't fully understand.
Patience goes a long way and doesn't cost anything, especially for people who are trying to help you out.

No not quite. Keep in mind that the caps alone are 1"W x 1.7"L. The enclosure is 1.18Hx2.5Wx3.15L", its a very tight fit.

I will have pictures in a day or 2.

Check out the service ken offers for the iMod docking cables. It is not a charging circuit, it is the ability to plug in a linear power supply through the dock connector. This deals solely with the connector and not the actual Vcap enclosure. Sorry for the rude reply, I get easily offended by the "F" word in "QFT".

3. Charging Enabled Imod Dock Cables: Projected: End of June
This will be a typical Imod Dock cable but you will have a DC female jack that dongles out of the connector along with the audio cable. Here you can plug in the PS that will come with the cable so you can play all day and night long. I looked for a quality linear PS for this package which is included with the cable.
UPDATE Done, these are made to order and come with a linear Power Supply. I can add this feature for almost any cable we make, add $85.

I have found that with a good linear power supply for the V-dock! you can not hear any noise that I can detect while charging which is good for those times your ipod is drained LOL!!!

I always thought the acronym "QFT" is "Quoted For Truth" which is what I did when I quoted both of you showing that Ken previously stated that he was going to make only 1 kind of configuration, which did not inclused a p/s charging circuit.

What else could the "F" stand for that would seem abrasive to the reader?

If it's bad, then I won't use it anymore. I'm only here to help.

I always thought it was "Quite ********* True".

The charging dongle adds no noise at all when charging. Even when my RPX-33 on high gain is at max volume, plugging and unplugging the charging dongle gives no noise at all. This is at a volume where there is a quiet but audible ticking from the imod and any actual music would be literally deafening and pop the drivers out of the phones.
