My Shure IEM's

Hi guys!

Just wanted to share some pics of my E500 and E4 (which I got very recently..). I'm so happy with the E4's! Just could not believe that you get so much for what you've paid.

They sound so tight and real with Rock & roll, and absolutely raw with The White Stripes's new album "Icky Thump". "St. Andrew (This Battle Is In The Air)" is a great example for that - You could hear Jack's fingers touching the cords of the guitar (At the begining..), and the bag pipe was cristal clear, sharped and focused. when Meg White started the kick of her drum set, it was very clear that the tones of the low department were just in the right place and in the right amounts. Must I say that the bass is not thin at all, it is punchy, quick, controled and fast. I guess that I like it better than the 500's, which in some occasions, could be a bit loose and boomy.. though, one might never agree with that impression. Bjork's "Volta" album shined on "I see who you are". At this point I will say that comparing such a calm song with a soft-strong-electric bass lines, to the E500's, makes the E4's sound "smaller". This is a song that was mastered right. The E500's makes the Bass line sail across your brain and fools you with that great Sub-Bass feeling. I like it alot!!

So, Maestro, Photos please!

how do the e4c's perform on more less bass-y rock, does it outperform the super.fi 3's? and also, are the cords on the shure's molded like the Ultimate Ears cords are made?

Hi Pez!

I can't tell you that because I never got the chance to enjoy the sound of the UE.. But, I will say that the E4's tend to perform great with various types of music. The upper register of the e4's is very open and crisp, though you can get more "air" in other headphone models. I noticed that in all the IEM world the highest frequencies are hard to reproduce. maybe it's because the Armature drivers are so small and tiny. Anyways, the E4 is such an "all around" IEM!I also like It because it is comfortabe. you can wear it straight down, instead of "behind the ears" like the E500, or other IEM designs. Pez, if you have the chance to get to your shure or UE local dealer and get a nice short rev., then do it. the best thing is hearing it yourself with your favorit music...

ok, thank you very much, I'm definitely gonna add the E4C's to my competition b/w the Super.fi 5 Pro's.

Connect your E500 with a good amp then you can see how difference it is compared with the E4C. If E500 doesn't sound better than your E4C significantly, then only it indicates that there is still lot of room for you to improve its performance.
