Head-fi STILL has connection problems for me...

I thought this was just a one day thing... But its been going on a while.

Alot of the time when I try to go to head-fi it doesn't work, and comes up with 'not found'. Then, after 5-15 minutes it comes right again for about 5 minutes then it screws up AGAN!!!

Why? WHY? Is it me or head-fi?

I haven't had any problems recently. Are you sure it's not a problem with the connection between you and Head-Fi? Next time you can't connect, try running traceroute on head-fi.org and see if the cnnection drops out before it hits Head-Fi.

As far as I'm concerned, those of us who haven't contributed have no right to demand that Head-Fi's infrequent connectivity problems be fixed.

I've had virtually no troubles. You know, you should probably be a paying member before you complain that the servers they have aren't expensive enough.

But I've had these problems for about a week. So perhaps it isn't the head-fi servers. Maybe it's my computer...

But no other sites have the same problems... Mmm

Yeah... I think the way I put it wasn't very good. I've changed my post to make it better.

X2, and IMO even if you do, this site was run by Jude without costing us a penny, for years and years, and still to many of us is totally free, so WTF please play nice, and if there is any technical problem email Jude for an answer, but bitching is not the way...

BTW the problem is yours, any setting or whatever, as I do not have any...

Didn't you start another thread like this? Since you seem to have Paypal or some other means of payment, there's no reason to not contribute.

I know this is a slow site even compared to other servers with similar traffic, but you know, you get to communicate with everybody, express what you want, and such all for free.

I think it's just you, and you should at the very least be a contributing member before making a post like that

Its your connection, ISP.... or something on your end.

No problems here

I believe you have an unreliable ISP, a weird computer, or simply slow connection stacked with a moderately slow site.

So it's you.

For everyone here who talks about being a contributing member, its the regular members who make this site money through the ads.

And if the site is down, that means less visitors, and less money through adverts.

As for alluding to people being less "worthy" for not contributing, thats BS. Many, many forums make profit without asking for money from its members.

Being a contributing member doesn't make people any less of elitist jerks.

ON TOPIC though, yes this site has server issues, and many many people have come forward about the poor connectivity, which seems to be getting worse.

EDIT: Are you sure about that. Most of the "ads" you see are the banners of the sponsors. AFAIK, clicking them won't generate revenue. Clicking a Google adsense makes couple cents. Do you help this site by clicking a Google adsense every opprotunity?

It doesn't make him less worthy at all. He has more posts than most of us, and he's been here quite long. But what if every single 500+ member donated $10. Don't you think the site would run a little faster?

Nobody said that a non contributing member is less worthy than any other, who contributtes or even as sponsor, BTW I'm not but I fell that I have no right at all, to complain about the service I get, at all, the adds is BS, these are pennies, and most fo the times you have to click to get paid, did you click on any, I do not....

I only have a head-fi clockout every few days, it's not common enough to bother me, but I did notice that I don't have the problem as much as some people do. Maybe your intrewebs are worse than my intrewebs.
