Up for sale is a CIAudio VDA-1 DAC with VAC-1 power supply in perfectly working condition.
Unfortunately due to the mismatch in size of the connectors of the power umbilical cable, the AC jack on the VDA is slightly cracked. But then this has absolutely no effect on its performance and the cable sits tight and firm in it. This is a fairly common issue as I have seen other VDAs with this issue.
The dac itself has been extensively modded, with Sanyo Oscons & Blackgate FK & NX caps and dual OPA627. These mods are similar to what Modwright was offering according my mate who modded my unit for me, and indeed took the performance of the original unit into a completely different league. This lovely unit is hard to beat for it's price and is indeed a giant-killer, however I'd like to have an USB DAC that can cater my PC and will need funds for upgrading.
I'd like to get US$420 + Shipping for the DAC and PSU, including the Revelation Audio Labs 0.5m Parable Cryo-Silver reference power cord which is meant for use as the umbilical power cord between the VDA-1 and VAC-1. Would prefer to sell together unless I get to find enough interest on everything. Will ship worldwide as the unit is in Hong Kong atm. Paypal only and we will split the fees.
