Will it take longer to break them in if the music is 'very not loud'?

The reason you use louder volume is because more power helps to loosen the driver faster. It is suggested that you set the volume to low for a few hours, then volume at which you normally listen to for another few hours, then for the remaining time set the volume somewhat higher. An analogy would be when you buy a brand new car, you don't take a fresh engine immediately to 75mph on the highway.

Opposite to loud is soft.

..."quietly" as in I always listen to my music quietly. Otherwise, what you say makes perfect sense. Perhaps, it could be reworded to be a little less awkward. "I don't listen to my music very loud." And actually, you should say "loudly" in this case but loud is accepted, in the vernacular!

Anyway, I am not a fan of burning in headphones. Maybe it's because I have never owned a lot of high end headphones or the ones I've had have been used. But I just get a new set of headphones, put them on and smile! All the while I realize that the sound I'm hearing now will probably change over time.

I have a pair of MX500s and didn't give much thought to burn in with such a small, inexpensive set of earbuds. But in actuality I did notice an improvement in sound over time. The highs became a lot less harsh.

Hey I love good sound as much as anybody. I've been listening to and playing music all my life. But I'm just not going to take my headphones, sitck them in a drawer and crank up some test sounds for two days. But to each his or her own!

"I prefer to listen at lower volume". Take it from me yankee, that's Queens English in reply to "I like loud music"

Probably the best way of doing it Lisa as your phones will be fed a varied diet of signals. I don't know what type of music you listen to but tune your receiver into a classical station and leave it for 72 hours...... the phones will be well and truly exercised.

Failing the above.... just listen to them and hear the sound getting better week by week.. what's the hurry?

Pinkie.

Pinkie

Hey Pinkie,

What part of Queens is Scotland? Is that near Forest Hills?

And by the way, in Bronx English we would say "I prefer to listen at a lower volume." Why do the British like to leave out articles like "a" and "the"?

Just goofin', Pinkie.

Peace out!

Oh, and by the way, the opposite of loud is quiet. And I still don't burn in my headphones. Hey that's 40 hours that I don't get to listen to them because they're not going to live forever!

Near St. Andrews mate! We leave out unnecessary "and, if's and but's" because you yankees have the word "Butt" imprinted on your foreheads.

An "ass" over here is a donkey and a "butt" is a cigarette end......

Steel,

I ordered a pair of px200s myself but they're on backorder

I hope to get them soon. I enjoy gaming myself and will be sure to let you know when I get them. I'm really into America's Army, which has lots of bullets and grenades. There are some voices, too, so it should be a pretty good test.

BTW, if you haven't played America's Army, check it out. It's completely free and it's awesome! And if you're any good come join our squad.

Oh, man. Brainwashing at work.... scary. "Be an army of one! Join the army! We have lots of bullets and grenades and it's completely free and awesome! Yeah!"

Sigh.

lol i have dial up, so its single player games only for me

. i tried out americas army at a friends house. its pretty cool and realistic. i dont like how you have to do all the training missions though and get the "honor badges" or w/e. and im convinced theres some subliminal messages in there from the gov't. (then again, i doubt the gov't would want computer geeks who sit around playing games being in the army
wink.gif
) my current games which i play is UT2k3, SoFII, and GTA3. im waiting for unreal 2 and doom3..mmm...
