HDTV Remote or IR Receiver Problem?

Hi all,

So i'm having an issue which is pretty frustrating. I bought a winbook 46d1 a month ago and there was the remote lag problem. That was fine; i lived with it. Then 2 days ago, the remote started going crazy. I'd press something but there wouldn't be a response. Then sometimes, the tv would just continuously loop the same operation eg. displaying the number 1 over and over again.

The thing is, the buttons on the tv itself is fine. So i went to microcenter where i purchased the tv with the remote. I tested the remote with the display sets there and the response seem to be fine. So i brought back my set for an exchange and since they were out of winbooks, they gave me a vivitek instead which was essentially the same thing.

I brought it back and right out of the box, i had the same exact problem, instead of just remote lag. I'm think i'll be returning this set and then make sure i can test the exchange set at the store.

I need some info or advice. Did any of you have this problem before or heard of it? Do other brands suffer from this? Would it be from some interference coming from somewhere else? I didn't add anything new apart from my xbox 360 HD-dvd add-on. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I know of people at Avs with cable boxes near their tvs and the remote goes bonky. I do not recall how they fixed it or if this is the same problem.
