Which headphone to recable to balanced

O.K. I will be going balanced for my dynamic cans so in your opinion, which of the cans listed in the poll should be the second pair to be recabled (The first will be the Senn 650's duh). Oh, and the poll is public, though it should not really matter as I am just looking for opinions.

Guessing its out of all that owns though a list in his post would be good ;p I'd do K701s then K340s. Then the Grados.

i dont see as much benefit from balancing low impedence cans like the grados. I would think something that is much pickier about its amp and power, like k701, k340, hd650 would give the most benefit.

i've read and heard from many people that the RS1s sound fantastic balanced. almost as much difference as seen in the HD650.

I remember a few threads that indicated the GS-1000 sounds better balanced but as I recall it was unclear if the difference was due to recabling or recabling in a balanced configuration.

Are you looking at simply reterminating the stock cable with XLR plugs or a complete recable? All those cans in your list can be easily reterminated with XLR plugs as they use 4-core cables already.

When you guys balance the 701s do you re-wire them so each driver gets new wire, or do you use the existing headband for the right speaker?

Good point. I will mostly likely recable all except the HP-1, which I will most likely simply reterminate.

Granted Ive never heard a balanced HP-1000 Ill bet its nice. However having heard the rest of those cans balanced and single ended, and assuming MS-Pros are anything like RS-1s, MS-Pros will improve the most, IMO. So that one vote for MS-Pro...thats me!
