Well, I am just making fun, the last line of my post was a dead give away, please don't cry or anything.

I don't think that anyone here intended to beat you into submission. It's just that your evaluation is so contrary to everyone's experience with the Grados that it's hard to follow where you're coming from. Nothing personal, but I can't figure out how anyone can think that the Grados sound distant and laid back unless there's something seriously wrong with either the Grados or the amp or something.

I love my 225's with my TA in my work rig. I didn't like how bright they were in my home rig. They didn't even sound distant and laid back coming straight out of my headphone jack on my pcdp and my preamp.

I don't understand...

Well I got a chance to listen to them in a quiet enviroment and I no longer think of them as being laid back. I guess with the tv blaring out I could not make a decent review of their up front nature. But I now think of them as being very up front phones. I am sorry if I stepped on anyones toes. It was not my intention. I am not going to change my opinion on them however. They are still bright and thin sounding in the mid range. Especially the drums.

It's okay, Matthew. If you don't like Gratos, that's fine; it's just that Gradoes aren't for you.

That was andrez I think.

It was bangraman who called Grados "Gratos". And "Gradoes" is a common misspelling of the plural form of Grado.

Yep.

So, if anybody says "deez sux0r" (when referring to a particular pair of headphones), they suck to his own ears, on his own equipment (or at least the equipment that he has heard the 'phones on), with his own music (or at least with the music that he has used to hear the 'phones), not necessarily to anyone else or anything else. In other words, those 'phones are not for him.

LOL.

Matthew: No one's intending to change your opinion. I think what was irking everyone was that you were describing them as laid back phones, not that you didn't like how they sounded.

Let us know what you think of the HD-600's when you get them. I'm looking into some open phones and the HD-580's and SR-225's are my main considerations.

Hope you enjoy them more.
