unscrupulous cosmetic manufacturers

I heard some sawing noises in my house and went to check it out. My mum was sawing open this 50ml shiseido eye revitalizer bottle so that she can use everything last drop of it. To our horror the bottle seems to be fitted with kelvar armor and we dropped our jaws after 30 minutes of horror, to discover a second bottle inside the first, which is another kelvar armor grade stuff.

And there is still around 20% lotion left inside

I remember i paid close to USD $1800 for a 6 bottles of different cosmetics shiseido ginza collection combo pack at narita airport and i wonder how much of them goes to build those extra tough bottles where they prevent consumers to maximize their purchase so they have to purchase more and faster.

That's the paradox of cosmetics and perfume. When you spend $300 on a bottle, you generally get much, much less than if you had spent $30 per bottle. It's not really a scam. You still get the amount indicated on the bottle. It's just a fancy bottle.

99% of the cost of expensive cosmetics is in the logo printed on the container.

Why? They purchaser was... foolish, you could say.... enough to purchase it in the first place. And can afford to buy the product again.

Some tests have shown that the wrinkle creams and such that work the best are the 30-40$ brands, and they found some expensive ones work the worst.

You paid $1800 for lotion? Reminds me of the saying, "A fool and his money are soon parted."

This is why I am disgusted by makeup and whatnot, as well as 99.9% of the people who use them. Too many people buying crud just so they could try and cover their imperfections and/or look all pretty, then later realize with a naive shock they got screwed over price-wise and/or performance-wise.

Oh well, if that bottle truly is "kelvar armor grade stuff," at least you can use it against people who try to break in your house so you can protect your money for other stupid stuff.

You'd get better, more permanent results spending your $1800 on cosmetic surgery (well, a downpayment).

you'd have the best results forgetting about appearance and go surfing

Exactly!

You naysayers obviously don't know what's in it:

1. Ground Lenin clavicle (done by hand with pestle and mortar in a vacuum)
2. Platypus tinkle & toxin (fresh, Shiseido keeps a small herd of platypi*)
3. Essence of Shakira (extraction method is proprietary)
4. Peter Pan's sloughed epidermal cells (5 per tube! They're the active ingredient. Other companies cut corners by using homogenized slabs of flesh from Sandy Duncan or Robin Williams.)
5. Kobe beef
6. Hyaluronic Acid

And it's all mixed in Dorthy's left, ruby slipper before being activated by focused antique light from Orion's rayonnant armpit, more commonly known as Betelgeuse.

*Are they not cute? (The guy in the photo has it all: a sweet gold chain and a platypus):

Platypi are damn near as cute as weevils:

That's so cute how the weevils are playing piggyback.
