If I may inject another possibility:

You seam to have your plate full of choices but I couldn't help but add another! Tom Anderson's guitars are just too beautiful to be ignored.

Ed Roman Guitars in LV is also a great place to browse

Man you guys are evil! The whole reason I'm scouting for an electric is because I just got a '65 Twin 'Verb reissue! I just came back from Guitar Center and played their ES137 (in blueburst no less, same humbuckers as this Ltd ES135) and indeed, it sounded very similar to my Paul - but "woodier" if that makes sense. I came home, pulled the trigger on that deal, and am now shopping around for some P-90s to pop in there. Anyone have a spare pair that are drop in replacements for these 'buckers?

Oh and I agree with you all, eventually I'll have to get a strat or tele or SOME kinda Fender in the house, or G&L or something...but pound for pound i guess the value for my F30 matched up closest with the ES135 this time around. Thanks for the advice tho all! And by the way, I just replaced all the nasty GrooveTubes in the amp with RCAs/USA made tubes from the 60's. MAN that's a big improvement!

Definitely -- of those choices --- the american strat. If you're going to buy a strat, go American and all fender. Although those EJ necks are great, Frankentrats don't always work out. Of course, if you can play them... that will give you your answer.

tjkurita, THREE 65 blackfaces?! Um, how much do you want to sell one for? I'm in the market for an amp right now.

holy moley. P90s are 160 bucks now?

i mean, they are soapbar so they'll pop into the 'bucker brackets but still - isn't that kinda pricey? Anyhow for now I'll just gaze at this pic of the actual guitar coming my way and plot how I can move things around to grab a strat...

Jahn: Get a Strat, a Tele, a Jaguar, a Jazzmaster, a Rickenbacker, a PRS, a Hofner, a Hagstrom, a Kent, a Silvertone, etc., etc., and then you won't have to fret about it anymore. Get it? .... FRET about it.

You know, that's a good idea. I'm keepin' this baby STOCK with the 490R and 498T humbuckers and if I want a single coil guitar, I better go get one! Thanks!

I would go for the Gibson, but I have a thing against guitars that are blue. Just looks weird to me.

I think what pushed it over the edge for me was the blue actually. Sentimental thing from my courtship years, when the GF-to-be-wife and I checked out the Blue Guitars exhibit at the Smithsonian. Lookit this private get together of that stash, sheesh!

I really like some of the transluscent greens. Especially on a quilted or flamed maple top. I've got some concert footage of Nickelback and Chad plays a custom PRS LP style that is a beautiful green flamed maple top. Ed Roman has some of the most beautiful guitars and can build anything you want custom, but then you are in the $3-4k range

those lindy fralin pups are the best there are and are worth every penny think of it as about the same price as a 325i and alot better sounding

I had a 40th anniversary Fender Strat white w/ a maple fretboard. Never really cared for it, since the Gibson SG is more my kind of guitar. So of the guitars you posted I would go for the ES135.

Lindy Fralin...you know, both Sam Ash and Guitar Center are having 4th of July sales. Mebbe I can score some there...

Jahn, does it HAVE to be a Fender or Gibson? Don't get me wrong, they are great guitars, but it always seems to come down to those two. My next guitar will be a Paul Reed Smith custom shop....see ya later $3,000
