Gratuitous Tube Glow Shot - Page 2

Who would have guessed how times can change?

When I was a kid changing tubes just to keep the
record player and radio working was a real chore.

In the Navy keeping all those tubes under control
in all that analog stuff was a chore too!

Even as a civilian I had to occasionaly take the TV
tubes to the drugstore to test them to keep it running
at it's best. The new stereo stuff too! What a chore!

Now I WANT to swap tubes!

....go figure.

we've tried LD mk ll on various headphones brands... matched well with all my and my friends Grados/Alessandros (sr60, ms1, sr80, sr125, sr225, ms2i, sr325i, sr325iS, msPro, rs1, rs1i, hf-2, gs1000) .. very good match also with Denon AH-D2000 and D5000 and some AT headphones

sir Donunus and i tried various amp settings (as we both have LD mk ll) and after market tubes too .. for our ears and music SQ preference we like ef92 and 6N6P tubes...

6N6P on LD mk ll

LD mk ll is bang for the buck so to speak

YMMV

Alas, I've gone over to the dark side - my tube amp now resides on a basement shelf, while I listen to the Nutcracker waft down from the music room, powered by transistors.
