They are good at marketing, and may be considered pioneers in that sense. But technically they havnt done much new, at least thats the way i see it.

Whats the bet that once this comes out you'll see every person within 14-22 years old carrying one of these, walking around with their earphones plugged in, there will be a surge in the purchase/downloading of music, and apple employees working in repairs will be working double shifts.

What a way to meet women.

No, he's been good at that since way before the iPod!

You may be right but I thought apple was going under if it weren't for the iPod.

Sony plans to have 8 gigs of flash and Meizu to have 8 and 16 gigs with better cameras. Don't believe the hype!

Do!
I stand corrected. Thanks for the enlightment.

No one has responded to my question about the cost of service. Any one have any info?

New Details About The iPhone

I somewhat expected the comment regarding the keyboard.

To have access to all the hype you'll be paying over a $1000 the first year plus a $175 canceling fee if you go broke trying to use you iPhone. LOL!!!

Its going to have to make a big drop in price, which it won't, to get me to buy one. Supposedly the keyboard feature is very hard to execute properly.

I was talking to a big Mac fan/friend of mine, asking him if he was going to get the iphone. He said he was, because of all the great synching features, and wifi on the go, address book, so on and so forth. So yeah, pretty much stuff that me and PPC users have been doing for years now.

Apple is for whatever reason taking ideas and packaging them in ways that people really want them.

I'm sure they will make a great product but i think lesser known products will blow it way in bleeding edge features for the rest of us. I think apple should get the recognition for making the phone user friendly for the masses not bleeding edge features in one package.

Do!
Agreed. I'm with you totally on those comments.

I've read the same thing about the keyboard not being all that great. I've also read that edge doesn't work properly so your stuck using wifi.

Buying the iPhone on the first launch wave in New York is seriously asking for it.

You get a call on the subway, whip out the iPhone, and all the muggers will home in straight for you.

Apple didn't "rip off" any other DAPs, but there's a misconception around Head-Fi that there is a public perception that the iPod was the first DAP. They arguably created the market, but I've not heard one person or media outlet say the iPod was the first model ever produced. Are you claiming now that people are mysteriously claiming Apple made the first cell-phone or that some of the features (multi-touch, visual voice mail, etc.) are first? So far people seem pretty knowledgeable on Blackberrys and Treos existing, so my guess is their reality field is pretty intact. Now if this is considered the first usable smartphone, that's by definition opinion.

I think every keyboard needs a .com button now!

I remember Apple getting sued by Creative, hense the ripping off. No matter what dap I hold in my hand people call it an "ipod." People call the iPhone the 'first" or "jesus phone" that does everything but not quite. Again, being recognized by the masses for false achievements while other brands get no credit.
