Fake PX400's - good or bad?

One online vendor is selling dirt-cheap PX400s - without the cable organizer, which in most cases almost certainly means it's a knock-off. These are already pretty cheap, but I want to ask:

Has anyone had a chance to compare verified genuine PX400s to the knock-off? What are the visual and audio differences?

Why oh why would you want to purposely purchase knock-offs?

I wouldn't (and haven't) purchased them. But given the reviews they're getting, I'm kind of curious about the contrasts between those and the real thing. There's always somebody daring enough to buy the things, and I'm fascinated as to whether ordinary consumers could tell the difference.
