Samsung u540 Cell Phone

I can't find very much information on this phone from google, so I thought ask the second best information center on the net.

This will be my first non-Motorola cell phone ever, and want to know if anyone has some experience with it. I've seen ways to make Mp3's ringtones, so I'll probably be doing that. It'll also be the first time I'll ever have text messaging. A pretty big step, I must say.

I assume I'll need a microSD card, but I don't really know if it's for storing pictures, or just for holding Mp3's for the phones player.

Anyway, can anyone provide some insight?

I would steer clear of Samsung. I have three tales of woe concerning them.

I dunno. Samsung has been good to me for a while.

The a930 (Verizon) I have works quite well.

Samsung is VERY popular in the UK, as prominent as Sony Ericsson and Nokia.

You won't need microSD card because you're phone is guaranteed to have some internal storage for all kinds of files (mp3, photos etc), but that need depends on how you're going to connect to your computer. But you probably want a card anyway because 15MB is very little storage. If your notebook/computer has Bluetooth then you can use that to transfer. If it doesn't, then you also resort to USB.

does anyone know if the phone will store pictures directly to the miniSD? cause if it does, then I probably won't have to buy a chord. and that'd be great.
