gold> rhodium= sound degradation?

hi,

is there any issue putting a 1/4" trs(headphone) plug into a rhodium jack?
do the metals in contact need to be the same?

No problem, both the gold and rhodium are there to prevent oxidation(rust) at the point of contact.

Mainly all plated surfaces has rhodium on them in one way or another, I read in some place that rhodium is widely used in plating as a base metal first, and then the other metals on top, nickel, silver, gold, etc...
