and having personally worked for a slaughterhouse, you should know that a "scooter" is a pig who's front legs have been crushed from the weight of other animals (some dead) piled on top of it. This isn't uncommon.
damn.

i know its a felony...........its a felony in all states but two. my point is that if they want this to end then ownership of this "mean" dogs should be regulated.

Waist to hip ratio is one such standard according to Devendra Singh's research.

pit bulls are born to fight. i mean, that is what they are suppose to do. they are certainly not the best option for having a pet. what they are suppose to do is regulate the ownership of pitbulls.
From Wiki: "APBTs can be very sweet, curious, intelligent, and clownish. They are noted for their outgoing, affectionate, eager-to-please disposition and their fondness for people; they love attention and relish the company of humans. When raised with a firm but fair hand an APBT can make a wonderful family pet, however, APBTs can also be stubborn and prone to display aggression towards other dogs. Thus, they should not be the first choice of dog for a novice dog owner"

I believe they are aggressive due to the way some of them are trained. Personally I would not choose a pit bull as a family pet. Vick should suffer the consequences as well.

did not this have more to do with sexual attraction than beauty? i mean, you can have a beautiful young girl, but you are not attracted to her.

Hmm, I guess my pit bull isn't such a good pet afterall, thanks for the expert opinion

Michael Vick squandering his talent is the real tragedy for me in this whole affair.

Through NFL beat writers, one gets the impression that his worth ethic is lacking in film study and the off season. Add to that his poor decision making like flipping the bird last year and being involved in dog fighting - not very intelligent for a starting quarterback in the league.

I'm hoping this affair goes away and he grows up because in my lifetime I've never seen a more exciting football athlete. He is blessed with remarkable skill.

His latest interviews don't hint a maturing process though - too bad. He should be just entering his prime, but instead people are talking about this.

The name is "pit" bull not "pet" bull, so what is a pit. Now think fighting.

"yet we slaughter thousands of animals daily..."

So we should slaughter animals for the sheer entertainment of it?

It’s sad this isn’t categorically condemned. To try to create some moral equivalency between the recreational abuse and destruction of animals for our entertainment with raising animals for food is ridiculous.

Fighting pit bulls are bred for aggression that is why you have to be careful when you adopt them. If you treat a pitbull with love, kindness and a firm hand as mentioned above you will have an excellent pet. Mile Vick should be heavily fined and barred from owning any dogs until he undergoes counciling and does community service. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Actually he is right:
Quote:
The Breed's Original Purpose
Humans have created specialized dogs through emphasizing desired traits and eliminating unwanted ones. It is no different with the pit bull type dogs. The American Pit Bull Terrier has been "selectively" bred for hundreds of years to fight other dogs. This is the sad "work" these dogs were created for. In the same way that Labradors were bred to retrieve birds, APBTs were bred to face other dogs in mortal combat. Even in dogs that are not recently bred from fighting lines, the urge to fight can arise at any time. Not to strongly emphasize this fact would be negligent.

A good example of alot of money and fame going to an immature guy leads to bad decision making. Couple that with a big ego and you have a train wreck waiting to happen. Unfortuneately in this society we can't change any of the above, we just have to stand by and wait for the wreck to happen.
