Just kinda curious. And how do they compare to the generic 15" or 12" dual PA speakers on eBay?

Such as:

I'm looking at LOUD and NIGHTCLUB hitting. Seems like the generic ones would be a better deal with the higher wattage and the higher freq response being at 20khx compared to the JBLs 16Khz.

Best buy also has a NASTY sale on some MTX stuff:

I dunno what to do....meaning, I dunno if I should sell those JBLs and save some cash (gas in a large cargo van to drive 3 hours each way) by buying the cheaper eBay no namers....or just wait a week and get them from Best Buy *shudders cause I hate best Buy*

I'd get the JBL's. Compression drivers and horns. 90 pounds and 102db sensitivity- they could kill with very little power. Just my humble opinion but the JBL's are basically pro audio gear and should sound nice.

Even with a moderately powered amp that's definately what you've just bought.

The Best Buy ones are only 92 db sensitivity so you'll lose a lot of the percieved power capacity.

JBL's are going to get you the club and loud sound easily as they are pa speakers. I would worry more about giving them enough space as they are designed more for a wide and large room instead of someones bedroom.

get a cheap qsc or peavey amp and you'll be set!

In the bar I am trying to hold out on the dj audio setup as long as I can, trying to sway the budget in to the lighting first then work on the sound system. I have JBL eon non powered with qsc amp and a behringer mixer now.
the worst sound setup I ever heard and its such a pos it almost makes me sick..
after the lighting is installed I will be replacing the sound setup piece by piece. first a Rane mixer, then a EV speakers, and finally a Crown macro-tech amp...one install that will last the life of the bar..

but I need money in the budget to buy that stuff first so..

Well, they're actually going to be used outside, so I'm kinda wondering how much that will affect the SQ being out in the open...
