When I listened to the sound for the 1st time, I was hit by it. I was punched by the not-punchy-bass. I was hoping it would offer much better bass response than SE315.. equals to Klipsch Image...

HiFiMAN HE400
By now I think most of us are familiar with the history behind the HiFiMAN HE-series headphones. What started with a single model has grown into a full...
I was in Japan and was looking at headphones to buy. I had a cheap budget of about 4000 yen or circa $40. I bought this headphone because it was on sale for $30 and was very good looking. It was...
Simply put, these headphones are one the best values in the audio world. They've praised time after time, and I now know why. These are my 2nd pair of quality grade headphones (after the V6),...
Yeah, nothing compares to BBE - as long as you're no EQ/enhancement hating purist. I only have hiss on IEMs with an impedance less than 30 Ohms... my DT770/80 are totally black with the D2.
BTW: A friend of mine compared his Zune's SQ to the old venerable Cowon X5 - and the X5 still sounds much better than the Zune, according to him. (He tested them with Total Bithead > HD650/Cardas cable).
D2 for its size/ SD cards and everything else that comes w. it. I had one and sold, but now I'm looking into getting new one again.
With IEM all players that I had hiss (westone UM2), the rest of the headphones that I have used no isues.
However, the flaws in the recordings are much more prevalent on the D2 than the Zune. As an example, a 192kbps MP3 file will sound better on the Zune than the D2, but the higher bitrates sound quite a bit better on the D2.
Not to mention the D2 supports lossless, and a custom EQ.
Indeed, D2 demands its bitrate, which is a good thing. Ive heard that the hiss problem is with IEms because theyre way to sensitive - thats why I've never heard any, i dont use iems
The only hiss I could hear was when the music wasn't playing...and considering that we're talking about an Mp3 player, I'd think it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

That is a good sign of superior SQ. I had the same experience when I went from Zune to Kenwood HD30GB9: I had to rethink my minimum bitrate requirements.
I have not heard a D2 yet, it must be very very good sounding as the Zune is no slouch.
Thanks for opinions!
Means COWON D2 better? Advise it?
Headphones at me Westone UM2, v-moda Vibe and Audio-Technica ATH-ES7.
I shall order tomorrow, I wish to not be mistaken with purchase.
The Vibes hiss a bit with the D2, but you only realize it when turning on the player, or between tracks. It's nothing that really distracts from the music.
I am afraid of this hissing in D2, everywhere about it you write also too about it speak. For me it is important still support lossless, but at D2 all 4GB in comparison with 30GB Zune. And at Zune is not present lossless!? Only MP3 and WMA
