No, the Apache was definitely competitive to the Krell. Different sounding, though. The Apache is slightly warmer sounding. However, my B&W N800's are slightly warm of neutral, as is my Sunfire power amp, so it wasn't an ideal match for me. Just the ticket for a slightly lean rig, though.
