I have a question: Did anyone buy the X3s without using Paypal and straight through Credit Card? Im not too familiar with paypal and am not sure about the handling fee if i used paypal with C.C.

There should be no difference M2. Seller pays the charge not you.

I'm in too, and thinking of ordering a 2nd pair in case I lose the first one. Sometimes I just leave them in rather than switching to full-size cans when I get home at the end of the day, which is really frightening...

Great, can't wait to get my pair... I ordered a day ago and paypal clears in a couple more days, so hopefully I'll get to listen to them in a couple weeks.

Might as well sign in. I'm liking these homely little guys, especially with the small V-MODA vibe tips. Very nice. We'll see how they hold up (or down) to the Atrio M5 when that arrives...

Argh, still waiting for mine! Hopefully they come in today...

i asked this in the other longer thread:

what full-sized cans are in the direction the M3's are headed? i'm not sure how else to ask:

i really like what the M3s are doing to my non-classical music and i want more. what full-sized cans will give me a sound that improves on the M3 sound? i've only listened to HD580 and HD600s critically thus far...

Hmm... Nothing Grado for sure.

Modded HD580, amp with an aggressive pimeta.
Koss A250, amp with a warm tube amp.
Yuin PK1 with a bass-heavy amp.

My X3 is on the way. It has Sony tips and cable management tool I have been told. I ordered a KSC75 too. I will compare too and I still love my KSC35. Very good value for money! I think best ratio in Headphones!

I hope that's right... the DT770/80's are my favorite closed cans, indeed... who cares about midrange?

It's only a matter of weeks till my Mylars arrive, they shipped yesterday.

Funny you should say that. I was all ready to dump my M5s for the X3s, but then I did a second AB test recently, and to my shock, apples to apples (no EQ, no bass boost on my Creative Vision M), the M5s actually sound smoother, cleaner and also deliver great bass. For some reason, at first I favored the X3s, but it was all about the tips. When I changed the tips from the Shure black foamies (the so-called olive tips) in small to the regular size Shure complys (got them from Westone), the M5s came alive for me. Also had done some pink noise burning, but again, the M5s were the winner. I still like the X3s a lot for my walking around phones (out on the streets), but I am really liking the M5s for the isolation duties (planes, traines, wif'e's TV sound, etc.). Curious how you will find the comparison.

Oh, and I find the small Vibe tips work best with the X3s as well.

I got my tips today, still waiting for the X3s to come in. It'll probably be another week, since the earliest they could've shipped was last Wednesday.

The guy who runs the shop (Uncle Wilson) is very friendly and I have yet to hear any complaints about him or his shop in Singapore.
If I decide to buy these, is it worth it to spend an extra ten bucks and get some AT CK5s, too?

Maybe it might be worthwhile to give them a try, see if you like them, if you don't, then sell them to break even or possibly even make profit (they retail for $35 without shipping at AudioCubes).
