Will X-Rays hurt my DAP?

I am flying in a couple weeks and was wondering if putting my I-Audio X5 through the x-ray machine will hurt it? For that matter would it hurt the memory card on a digital camera? Last time I went on a plane I was using DAT and film. If its an issue I could put the X5 and memory stick in the little basket with my pocket change to avoid it going it getting zapped. Any info would be great.

No, you'll be ok. The only thinkg that might hurt it is the stupid people x-raying it, by letting it fall off of the conveyer belt or running it into other baskets! I've seen them smash laptops into each other and all kinds of crap! Watch to make sure they don't do this.

You are right they are not very careful. But they claim the reason is they make low wages and can not recruit high caliber people. I say that many (if not most) do not take pride in the work they do and thus do piss poor work. Just my opinion.

if you really knew airport security, you would have to be drugged and tied down to the chair in the plane to fly.

Actually a lot of people report a loss of battery life from repeat exposure to x-rays... don't know what the true cause is, though.

I'm talking about airport employees who are going through security multiple times each day, though.
