Opinions on K701 comfort?

Hey Y'all,
I'm just curious who does/doesn't find the AKG K701 headphone band uncomfortable. Personally I don't even notice the headband. Seriously, how can such a the teensy weensy bit of pressure be an issue? BTW, having studied Tia Chi daily for the last 4 years I have an open mind with respect to the possibility that an acupressure point is being irritated but I don't feel it myself. Even if this was the case, surely just repositioning the band by an inch or so would surely fix the problem wouldn't it?

I have never found the band to be at al uncomfortable. Sometimes my ears get warm, likely from being encased in velour.

The very tip top of my head gets a really sore spot if I wear my 701's for over an hour.
If I move the headband forward or backward slightly from time to time, this does not happen.

When I tried the K701, the bumps were quite noticeable on my head. The K601, with its flat headband and IMO softer pads, was more comfortable. Of course, I still personally feel Senns are more comfortable than the AKGs.

Cheers!

I have the problem with the 701 that the band is too short and doesn't let the pads get low enough on my head. The bottom of the pads are basically on top of my lobes.

I do have a big head but I can wear my Grados comfortably by barely lowering the cups.

Ditto, except for the part about really sore. Mine just gets a little sore.

I find mine comfortable and can wear them for hours without complaint; but I definitely find them less comfortable than my HD650s, which are less comfortable than my HD590s...

Here too.
It's really sore after an hour or two...

But as much I can recall,
In the pair that I've tested when I bought mine the pads in the headband where softer.
(Mine have no more then 100 hours of use on my head...)

Is there any way to mod the headband to prevent this pressure point?
Has anyone one tried anything?

The K701 is quite comfortable for me, but everone has a different curvature to the top of their head. I suggest using a soft black foam strip with a removable adhesive, or no adhesive if thats better. Just cut it to shape and secure the ends if you don't decide on an adhesive.

The K701 bumps hurt the top of my noggin.

I've found it very comfortable, but I bought mine used.

I guess my head is too small, because the way the K701 goes over my ears and around the sides of my head is very uncomfortable.

The 650, on the other hand, is perfect.

I tried the K701 briefly at an audio store. I found the HD580s to be more comfortable than the K701s. That's not to say that the K701s are not comfortable, but I just found the Senns to be more easy on the ears. Also, the K701s got pretty hot due to the velor pads. I only wore them for 15 minutes and noticed that my ears were a bit warm.
