If you're talking about the new version, it won't be out for at least a couple of months. The best thing to do is just to wait for it at the point... but I suppose you could always contact the guys at headroom and see what they'll divulge.

I realize that I'm bumping an old thread here, but there really hasn't been too many new impressions of the 2007 Headroom Desktop. Does anybody have any impressions of this amp/dac? How would it pair with a pair of headphones like the CD3000? I'm looking for a warm, bassy sound with a large soundstage and smooth, non-fatiguing highs.

EDIT: Blah, I hadn't realized that trose49 posted this in the Headphones forum. It'd be nice if a mod could move the thread to the amps forum

I would like to hear a little bit on the desktop system as well. The portable would be nice for extended trips like the one I am on now.

Also, Trose, while I am here, what is the secret in your sig? It's been there for a while, and I'm sure alot of people are still wondering what it is.

He won't reveal it just like that; you'll have to wait until it's ready. All I know is that it isn't an RSA product.

NO Fed-ex truck?

NO unveiling photos?

You should know better by now!

I know it is frustrating as I though the BIG SURPISE would be here by now and I am waiting like eveyone interested.

You are right it's not a RSA project although I did speak to Ray yesterday and am considering an order! But thats not it.

Believe me you will see the CAPITALIZED POST when the package arrives.

Actually the Desktop system I was origianlly asking about the system that was displayed at Head-fest with the white speakers and the amp/dac combo I though they were gonna package that as a whole system for sale.

Havent seen any thing about it since.
