Custom Beyer DT-880's on the way! 600ohm! - Page 16

Hunt around Paypal site (didn't realize you went "that way" ) and find a phone number. IIRC they hide it pretty well. - ask them (Paypal) to explain the hold and then release. It IS your money.

Actually paid with Paypal debit card thats all!

They take whats in your account out first then access you checking account if funds are needed.

But they put the money back in!

I will check it out!

I just bought some 600 ohm DT990's that I'm excited to add to my growing stable. I bought them used in the FS forum, so they're not custom units, but I kind of prefer the velour pads anyway. I wonder how hard these will be to drive? Not that it'll be a problem for my mono block Darkvoices, just curious if they'll be anywhere as power hungry as my K340 or Orthodynamics.

This is exactly what they done with my order . The only difference is that they just "asked" my CC for ballance , received OK from CC company, and put the money back . So they even didn't took anything , just checked my ststus and probbaly started to work .

So I believe it's they normal mechanism. I just can't understand not replying on e-mails ...

OK so similar situation. (trying not to worry )

Congrats on the 990's 600ohms!! I saw those and would have jumped on em if I had not just placed my custom order.!!!!!

You are lucky that seemed like a great deal from what I can tell!

Maybe we should check some Hong Kong Stores for 600ohms and sell em!

Im on it!

SW61 - all current generation dt990/600 have to come from Manufacture (you probably intended to say that the prior owner ordered them bare-bones [except for ohms]?)...............anyway, they are a bit less-hungry than k340. ...........and Velour is the best for them anyway (though I do use Leather on Darths and 880's)............believe it or not, the difference between Leather headband cover and std Vinyl can be felt.

Actually, I have seen non custom 600 ohm 05/06 DT990's for sale on EBay. Maybe they are available that way in other countries.

I sold swt61 the noncustom, 600 ohm DT990s. The guy who sold them to me, vvs_75, said he purchased them in Hong Kong.

on the other hand - notice that Jan Meier no longer has any 32ohm Beyers on his headphone page. Zip, Zero, None!

Brilliant Trose. That's a major victory.

The leather earpads on the DT880s are AWESOME and they deserve a bit of consideration regarding early use. They don't need burn in (Doh! They're leather...) but they do benefit from break-in. Crush them flat folks to open up the breathing of the foam through the holes in the back. Reduces heavier mid-bass. When I first got them I was notching down a few decibels at 160 HZ but I no longer have to. They're fabulous. (Listening to Skip James as I type; excellent SQ with lots of tight smooth bass.)
