ipod shuffle - memory capacity differece between 1st gen and 2nd gen

my 1st gen shuffle shows 992.7 mb
where as my 2nd gen shuffle shows 967 mb
when both are connected to iTune.

are they supposed to be the same? or is my 2nd gen faulty?
anybody who have both that can check for me?

Please help.

Well nothing in this world is perfect. It is hard for manufactures to produce all flash memory to the exact same capacity. Even if they could that would easily drive up the cost of your iPod just for a few more songs.

Don't worry about it, that is within manufacturers specs.
