Hi! I think I'm selling my Rio Karma. The hard drive failed some months ago. I bought a nice compact flash adapter, that works, but for now I'm not going to buy an 8gb compact flash 'cause I lack funds.
With a trial 128mb cf card the karma powers on and recognizes the card as hard drive. The adaptor works fine, but the card is too small to host the karma's firmware (that should be 300 mb).
The A-Data 8gb 120x have been tried with the Karma and work nicely, as tested on DAP Review. I imagine that Sandisk cf cards work too, 'cause mine (128 mb) was recognized by the adapter, buthad just too little capacity.
The Karma comes with the docking station, the charger, and EU-USA charge adapter, the usb connector and a nice lil' bag for it.
The screen works fine and has no scratches, and the battery is in very good condition. The cf adapter, very nice, is already in place: it's small, slimmer and shorter than hitachi 1.8'' hard drive. No problems in putting back the case on.
With a flash card drive, the Karma will be able to spare battery life and you won't hear hard drive noises anymore. No more hd failures, too, but you'll have to buy a cf card on your own (I suggest 4GB or 8GB). A flash Karma is the definitive flash player, and cheap, too.
