paypal users - HELP!!!!!!

OK, so I am about the purchase a hornet here, but paypal is a pain in the butt.

I set up an account, and it is all good. Tell me my sending limit is $25000HKD (~$3000 USD)

So I enter the amount Ray quoted me, and it says that I have exceeded my limit.....?! Then I trial and error and it seems like the max limit I can enter is $199 USD.

What gives??

You are sure its verified both ways.

what do you mean verified both ways?

I mean verified, just verified with your home address and bank account.

Why do I need to do that?

I thought that was just so I can get unlimited sending limit. The initial limit it gave me already exceeded the amount I want to pay.

Thanks for your help, btw. Really appreciate it.

Well I wouldn't be too sure about how that works, but it's best to have it certified, for credibility and access.

It's really easy:

Address: they phone your home with an automated machine and you're supposed to enter a code or something

Bank: they make two payments of around 2 cents and you have to report it to their site

oh really? i was hesitant on doing that because the steps it listed required the number being on the next credit card statement, so that would be a long wait because I just got my statement recently.

Let me try the phone option.

argh - no use, they said they cant reveal the number over the phone

paypal really sucks

Well, when I did the phone option I accidentally pressed the buttons before somebody answered, so they just sent me a snail mail with the number on it.

I don't think that's about the limit, but it's 'cause you don't have enough money in the account, since paypal charges money when you convert from different currencies.
Try adding a few dollars to the account and you should be good.

Can't you access your credit card on-line?

I thought there was no charge for that.

I have $0 in my account, and sending $200 would work so I dun think they have a service fee for currency exchange. Besides, I dont want to set up a bank a/c with them, just paypal.

Online statement is one way to go, will try doing that.

Thanks

Paypal accounts take some time to be activated, and you need to verify it first, it is not that you cna doan account in two seconds an begin to send money imediatelly, the deposit two amounts into your account, and then you have to report thetwo amounts to them to verify that everythihg is correct...that takes a few days...

Well, I recommended forsberg to try and access his accounts on-line because they usually post it up within a day or so. It's what I did when I needed to verify my PayPal account quickly.
