New Xin Reference Amp by Dr. Xin !!! - Page 5

Gah! Great!! I just placed an order for the SuperMicro IV about two weeks ago... Now I'm wondering if I should hold off till we have someone review the new Reference Amp. Particularly with the ER-4S. Is there the chance of a better syngery?

EDIT: Record time! Xin replied to my e-mail within a minute!!

I'm actually getting both, SuperMacro-IV Reference Ed. and SuperMicro-IV (post 4/11)...it'll be quite the dual!

You can always change your order after you placed it...I just added the SuperMacro to my order this morning...I ordered the SuperMicro Feb 19th.

I want to hear a review first. According to Xin's e-mail, we should see one this weekend I'm hoping for a comparison with the SuperMicro IV with Ety ER-4S! If it's similar (I doubt it will be), then I'll stick to my order. There is also the whole thing about synergy. So if the synergy of the Ref amp isn't as good with the Etys as the SuperMicro IV, then my decision is obvious

So the appeal of this is that its a bigger supermicro, simple, cheap ($250) and has the ability to drive higher impedance headphones? Outside of simple, doesn't the mini do all of that for less money? What am I missing?

longer battery life and stronger case. aside from that, it's anybody's guess on the sq... hopefully better because the design of the circuit board is much simpler than the macro or mini.

I certainly hope the SQ is better than the Micro, let alone the macro or mini. 200 hours of battery life is far to excessive for me to need It's not like my iMod can keep up with it anyway. If there is no change in SQ, then I'm sticking with my SuperMicro IV order.

I hope it sounds amazing- I love stuff that's both cheap and great. I hope this one is already perfected rather than a work in progress.

well we all know that with xin, it's always a work in progress...

Let me just admit to being stupid- I initially read 20 hours of battery life - 200 makes a whole lot more sense.
