For the record, since acquiring SuperMicro-IV, my upgraditis for amp has been fully sated and it will take an Avalanche to convince me if there's anything else could dethrone that tiny giant.

BUT, I am ALL in for this latest offering from Dr. Xin because I loved the idea of achieving perfection through simplicity, SuperMacro-LE is a Swiss Knife, this one should be a single edged razor blade.

Yea, I guess you have to choose between pure simplicity and super features. But the reason I got a Xin amp is for the well thought out features and less about perfect SQ

I see what looks like BKA on the TSOT package, which is what AD marks the AD8615 with. Supermicro uses the same chip. I see four of them, though, whereas on the Supermicro I only recall seeing three (which made me wonder where the fourth channel was). Other than that, this doesn't have a DC-DC converter (MAX1796 on the Supermicro), which the Supermicro/Mini use.

Did anyone actually compare the Supermini/Macro to the Supermicro using like op-amps? The only comparisons I'd seen were people comparing default configurations, which doesn't exactly provide much in the way of evidence for effective comparison.

Hmmmm.... The SuperMicro did a very good job with 250 ohms when I heard it. That's one big capacitor. This might drive 600 ohms.

Is it just me or are we seeing a huge number of exciting amps entering or approaching the market. TTVJ Hybid, new Headroom Micro Amp, Lisa III, now this...

I would do that but I dont know the op-amps on the micro

Bah! Just ordered a Supermini IV today. I think this might suit my needs better. Would it be possible to cancel my order now?

Well, unless there is some other chip out there that uses BKA on the package (I am not aware of any), it's the AD8615 as I specified in the previous post.

I'd personally rather have a Supermini. The ability to custom configure the amp I think is valuable, and it's also truly portable. If you're just in need of something transportable, there are transportable solutions out there that are probably a better choice (e.g. small desktop amps).

I agree with Filburt! For a portable solution the best is supermini. It is very small, thin, light and feature rich!
I have my new supermini with AD8656 in LR and AD8616 in 34. The battery life is very good. After 4/12 tweak the Sq is surely improved. The best sounding OPAMP configuration I found with SUPERMINI is LM4562 in LR with AD8599 or LMH6643 in 34.

jaushama have you tried with opa2227 and ad8066?

What headphones are you using with the Supermini? From what I've read it seems like a great amp but I am a little worried about it being able to drive higher impedance headphones (The biggest I'm looking at is ~250 Ohm).

Can't wait to hear more about this amp. Keeping an eye on this.
I have used only LM4562 till now I will try OPA2227 today!
It can drive any high impedance headphone with DC boost enabled. May be high gain setting too. It drives my HD650 to very loud levels even at low gain setting.

let us know how it sounds compared to opa2227.. :-)
