ricmat, if you buy from outside the EU there may be import tax to consider as well. Don't know about Portugal but in Sweden there is a small tax and then you have to pay 25% VAT on everything (value of the headphones plus the shipping costs and the tax). In the end I decided to buy them from Apple store, not exactly cheap but I knew what the price would be and delivery took only two days from order.

VAT in Portugal is likely lower (who can beat 25%?) though so you may actually benefit from buying from Asia.

I consider these to be my best looking headphones. I have mine hanging next to K701 which really makes the K701 look - well, even more ugly than what they are.

It's a pity that some pictures don't do ES7 justice, a friend of mine thought these were egg shaped after having looked at a picture (the product picture at Audiocubes).

That's true! I consider them to be awesome! I had seen some pictures first that in fact made me think something like: "what strange HP, such big gloves for your ears in such a strange way"! but then I saw some pics in other site and I though WOW, such a great HP - in fact I was totally surprised that the model was the same!!!

I support you! those are very very beautiful HP!

Yes, that's true. Here in Portugal, if you buy from outside EU you have to pay custom fee (1% value) + 21%VAT [yes, not 25%, but not far...] so that's true.. but if I buy them from apple store, from where will they come? not outside EU??

Cheers!!

I paid about US$126, mine is from Singapore. The price includes the "service fee" I had to pay a guy to go and get it for me from Singapore.
Its directly from Audio Technica Singapore.

Well worth every cent.

I did some additional burning in with pink noise yesterday. About 15 hours worth. Now they are all glittery and sparkly... with bass too. Hmmmm.... I'm still testing it out. Bass seems to have taken a back seat, its not reduced in any way at all, but rather now the mids and highs are also kicking my head too. Ouch! LOL j/k
Not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing yet. I'm a basshead, so....
Will post back with more results.

Just a note of caution, if you burn in with pink noise, regularly check it out, because if you're a basshead, you might not like soo much mids and highs... Stop the burn in when you're satisfied. Just a tot.

Oh crap, I just noticed something. I read a post about the K701 becoming your enemy if your source is no good, because it picks up every little detail. I thought, hell no, it can't be thaaaaat bad.
But... Guess what? Seems that now the ES7 is picking up some crap artifacts on some of my mp3s after being burnt in with pink noise... @320kbps mp3s too mind you... Oh oh...

Pink noise = bad

Bad/good depends on how you see it.

If there's such a thing, it burnt it in too much, lol. Its very sensitive now. Now the ES7 is too good... LOL
I got to clean up my mp3 collection now.

All this is IMHO only. Just my 2 cents.

Ps: Cymbals are driving me nuts on some songs, because its become more apparent now after the burn in. I've never liked cymbals in the first place.

Really??
So please keep me posted about that! I NEED to know which and how much burn-in to use!! I like bass, but I do need a lot of sprakling and airy mids! so I guess I'll do some burn-in like that too!!

But keep me posted!

Cheers!!

I'm still testing 'em. I'm kinda getting used to the new found brightness as I go along. I'm definitely noticing more details in songs. Bass is almost the same as far as I can tell. But somehow I get the impression that it has loosened up ever so slightly(not as tight as before) and extends much lower than before. I could be wrong, needs more testing... I'll report back.

Ok, all I have to say is that its all good. The improved mids and highs are a welcome change. Very satisfied.

Next on my list of headphones to attack, the DT770/80.... ... Hehehe...
