Absolutely. I would rate my ES7 closer to the 900ltd then to the SJ5. The cable could be a little thicker (and one sided).

Well, just ordered black, thought it was nice,
do you have any other opinion?

(guess it is still time to change the order... - it's weekend and i would call them first thing in the morning monday... )

I got black too since I was afraid my preeecioussssss would scratch... I think scratches would be more noticable on the white one, since the headband is white too... Dirt would get into the scratches and ruin the look; IMHO.

just another question, they are totally portable, aren't they?

(i.e. it's not that it matters a lot - although, sometimes i travel with my MS1 behind me [just cant left them.. ] - just to know if i can easily use them in the train and thngs like that... afterall, proud of those beauty... )

as far as i'm concerned, tottaly different cans! 280 are closed, 580 are open... so they should be quite different in "temperament". Besides that dont know if there are any specific sound details. I think they will be different in the bass (think i read smt like that anywhere).

Bottom line, I guess those are tottaly different, despite same sound signature (Senns )

Yeah, they're portable. Medium sized I'd say. It was smaller then what I was expecting. Light too.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Just to let you know they require quite alot of burn in. Been using mine for 2++ months and now the mids are really starting to show. Been using it like 4~5 hours a day, about 4~5 times a week since I got it.

Gotta warn you though, initially it might sound "yucks" to you. Kinda like, uh ok, so what's the big deal? When I first put them on I was like... "So, I paid more than a $100 for this? Riiiiiightttt...."

My initial thoughts was not that it was NOT worth the money, rather it was more along the lines of was it a bang for the buck? Get what I mean? I was under the impression there was nothing special about it. It was just another normal headphone to me.

There was loads of bass at first, but within a week or so, the bass really tightens up and kicks you in the head. When it finally kicked in, I was like "WHOA! WTF !!" Nice.

The mids come after weeks and weeks of ussage like I said above.

I hope you enjoy your new toy.

Really? ok then! it's good to know not to be thinking about..

if i'll put them as my "first" HP - i.e. my HP for work and for "on the go" (the MS-1 will stay in house..) i think i can easily put on them smt like 8-10h a day, so I guess it will take less for me to burn them

but it's good to know that!

Might I ask how much you guys are paying for the black ES7? I bought the white version since it was cheaper but I really prefer the black model.

I agree with what you said above, especially the bass. My7 first impression was that had the bass been tighter (i.e. not bloated as it was) this would have been a very nice can. Luckily, this changed after some days of continuous burn in.

Now I am just enjoying these phones and if the midrange improves further, this is a real bonus .
