Toyota Corolla vs Honda Civic - Page 2

I'd take the Civic, my parents had both cars and I thought the Civic was a much better car than the Corolla. In terms of reliability, both cars were pretty equal. However, the Civic felt quicker and more fun than the Corolla.

Civic. I drive a 98, it has 134k miles on it, and I expect it to run for at least 3 more years or so. Its run like a dream, with only a few minor problems.

Civic for the fun driving. Due to the transmission design, you might feel that Civic has better acceleration.

Corolla is for low maintenance cost.

Personally, I'd pick the Civic.

Of course, the ones I drove were fairly recent, 00 - 03 for both Civics and Corollas. But both are good cars, won't go wrong with either.

I've had both and MUCH prefer the Civic. I'm a big guy and i fit so much better into the civics. They're a just so well engineered that even a big galoot like myself can slide comfortably into one.


As far as fun and performance... Just ask yourself how well the Toyota racing team does against Honda.

Eeeesh. As a big man myself, I'm not a fan of driving either the Civic or Corolla. Unfortunately, I have to a lot because I work in a tire shop. I should mention that I grew up in a land where I seldom had to ride in a passenger car because 90% of my family and friends had all trucks.

I hate both cars, but if I had to choose, I choose the civic. At least the civic comes in the sporty civic si flavor.

I have noticed that I have to hit the break every time I am behind a corolla going around the bend.

I have to go with the Corolla. I just got my second and I've owned two Honda's (Honda>Corolla>Honda>Corolla) as well. You will get more Corolla for the money and it's just as reliable of a car. Civic's are expensive now! I just wouldn't put up the money for one after seeing the Corolla again.

BTW, the first Corolla I had was a company car and I drove it 75K miles a year for 2 and a half years. It's pretty comfortable and I'm 6'3".

I also slammed it into a concrete divider on I-70 at 75mph in the rain and walked away unscathed. So, I can vouch for the fact that they're safe with head on impacts.

I'm more comfortable in my dad's Accord than my mom's Corolla. But, I don't know if the Accord and the Civic are similar, I'm thinking they are. Somehow I think my mom's Corolla is too wide, because I have trouble keeping centered in lanes.. o_O;

I feel comfortable in my parent's 94 Corolla. Still running now with no break downs whatsoever. I like that Toyotas last almost forever...Civics on the other hand, I've seen so many break down in front of me, new and old, never once a Toyota. Although I feel most comfortable in my Volkswagen Passat
