It's pretty nice. I find it's a distinct step up from the PA2V2 in terms of sound quality (form/convenience benefit is obvious). Very smooth sound. Should be a good match with the UM1s from what I've read about them. I'll have some UM1s myself in a little bit, so I can tell you specifically then.

It has a really smooth and unintrusive bass boost. They helped balance out my Ety ER6 back when I had them. The "wide sound stage" switch, which is basically some kind of crossfeed, I think, is also welcome on really channel separated older recordings.

(I don't mean to jump in, but as someone who uses a very similar setup to yourself with similar experience, I figured I'd be useful here.)

You should also keep in mind that I haven't heard a "better" amp than this, really. I'm sure I'll dump on it later when I have a SuperMicro or something. Curse you Head-Fi!

Wow, those are some really short IEM cables. How do you carry the setup to have such short runs?

I'm no audiophile, at first I could not hear any difference between the headphone out and the iBasso. But after listening trough the iBasso for a week, I just can't go back to the headphone out!

When I'm wearing a shirt, I put the nano/iBasso in my pocket. When I'm wearing a pocket-less T-Shirt, I hang them on my lanyard (the combined weight is barely noticeable...)

Nice pictures, Charn. However, you have posted them in the wrong thread. This thread has not been active since October 2007. There is an active thread here.
