I'm looking for a new receiver that will replace the handful of other ones kicking around my house. In particular, I'm looking to take a used Pioneer Elite, Boston Acoustics, or other similar quality receiver off of your hands.

The Denon AVR-1905 isn't high-end and doesn't fit a few of my requirements. Plus, I've had bad luck with Denon equipment. But I do appreciate the offer.

Two and a half months later and the search is still on.

Requirements

-120 watts/channel or higher @ 8 ohms
-5.1 surround or better
-high-quality audio DACs
-pure or direct mode for disabling DSP
-phono stage preferred
-possible to passively bi-amp front mains

HDMI is not required.

No, I think my only upgrade path at this point is to go with either the VSX-49TXi, VSX-59TXi, or start looking at separates.

Alright. I really like my Pioneer a lot. I upgraded to it from a Onkyo and the difference was huge and immediately noticed by all present.
