I'm not sure if this has been nailed down in the prior 4 pages of largely extraneous banter, but the ALO iMod cable is in fact a line out dock that has the caps built inside the dock itself. The dock did not look larger than a normal one, although I think it was on the thick side. It looks as solid and as sturdy as any fine ALO product.

Procreate:
I showed you sufficient respect to explain you weren't being singled out or blamed for your comments. Since I haven't commented negatively on your style or use of English, a bit of reciprocal respect would be nice. |

If you hadn't (i) dismissed the quality of a thread you seem not to have actually read and (ii) avoided reading the initial post for which you profess to thank me, then you might have come across the following:
Also: the mere fact that the cable will be made by ALO and doesn't plug into the headphone jack indicates it must be a line-out cable. Apart from Vinnie boring a hole into the case, the iPod's dock is the only other possible means of connection. BTW: Choosing to comment negatively on the thread on which you're posting does little to keep said thread from degenerating into -- how did you put it? -- "extraneous [i.e., unnecessary] banter." Issues aside, you make welcome points about the cable itself, which I saw from a distance but not, regrettably, from closer vantage. As I said before, the dock looked to be another of Ken's artistic confections. Coupled with the iMod, it seems to make the greatest sonic improvement of any cable he's made thus far. One wonders whether his past LODs could be used with the 5G iMod and achieve any of the benefits of the proprietary iMod cable (since Killercrush seems to want to use his own). I'll try to ask Ken about that later this evening. |
scrypt, you need to take it easy. This is an internet forum about audio gear not one specialising in the discussion of literary masterpieces. I don't see why you took some of the replies as inflammatory
They were merely genuinely harmless comments and so what if someone misread something? However you decide to reply to my comments above, please resort to PM.
I've 6 spaces left for some literary enlightenment [now I was just poking fun at you; you remind me of Dr. Cox from Scrubs, just more sophisticated

Now if everyone has finished "thanking" me, then perhaps discussion of the iMod may continue. Vinnie told me he'd be posting at some point in this thread -- let's keep things relatively positive and civil until then. |

Hey All,
Well as you can imagine I am pretty busy not only with the normal fare but making a bunch of 5G-5.5G Enabled Imod cables. I am planning to have at least 3 versions of these iMod Enabled cables and one to a RCA type. I will have a page posted very soon on my web page that will hopefully answer many of the questions people have. I would also like to be able to address any questions in a thread in order to keep the mail traffic at a min. Anyways both Vinnie and I are very excited about this project. Ken @ ALOaudio |

Hi Ken, good to hear. Will you consider making one with silver instead of copper? Thanks.
