I'm in my whiskey period

Yes, the season started since autumn finally kicks in.
I begin with a milder Dalwhinnie, as soon as it gets really cold, it's only Islays from there:)

I'm enjoying some 'Herstbokbier' right now ('Autum Bock Beer')

La Trappe has a fine one, as well as La Chouffe

This year I only had the more popular Grolsch and Hertog Jan ones. The Grolsch is more fresh in taste, with a similar freshness to it as one can find in their pilsners (of which I am not a fan, I must say). The Hertog Jan has a lot more body to it and has a more mature taste imo. One is not necessarily better than the other, though I think I prefer the Hertog Jan.

Yes, whisky period has started! :-D I still have some, though I am keeping a close eye on all the malts that are for sale. FWIW Gall&Gall sell 100 malts with 5€ off, or so they say.

I had the Grolsch which was pretty nice to drink, maybe a little bit too sweet. Have to taste Hertog Jan yet.

You know, even if Gall has 20% discount, they're still more expensive then drankgigant.nl :)

Yeah, but with shipping it is not so interesting. Or maybe I should buy two bottles.

We now officially have 1.132 different beers in Belgium. Not bad for a small country with only 11 million inhabitants
I'm so proud! Snif snif

Every country has something they're good at.
Even Belgium has, even without government

Founders does a lot right, and little wrong.

This Two Bros IPA is simply boring.  Little aroma, no floral really, little piney maybe, barely malty or caramelish, then maybe bitter, all with a thin mouth feel.  Maybe my senses are dulled by Sudafeds, but nothing at all sticks out, so I wouldn't bother unless you just want to pound a $13 six pack of 7.2% beers.

And this, again, is just excellent beer.  I can't describe it right now because that's an older picture, but I'm opening another bottle as soon as I go sit in the headphone chair here in a bit.

Got this in my glass right now. Damn, this thing tastes goooood. I am totally thrilled with this.

It says bok but it's not from this year. A couple of weeks ago (pre-bok season) I visited a liquor store to get some bok beers. The guy told me he did not have them yet but he did have this. My-oh-my... This has the character of a regular bok but with an unbelievable nice body, probably because of the touch of honey that is in there. It is also slightly stronger than a regular bok at 8%.
