Been there, done that already, but the thirst remains

Thanks to all who have shared their experiences with the Apache.

Affirmative, it is not discrete. Ray said it uses AD797.

And did someone say pics?

The Apache...

Output buffer is discrete, Input/gain is ope-amp, this will enable you to roll in other op-amps of your choice.

What's the range on types of op-amps we can use for rolling?

I loved the Apache enough to get on the list for one I came to the International Meet looking for a balanced SS amp and tried all of the contenders. Not to speak bad about any other amps or makers, but for me, the Apache fit like a glove. It brought out a different world in the Senns which are my primary can (I also listened to it with Edition 9 balanced and SE, R10 SE, PS1 balanced and SE, L3000 SE, SA5000 SE). I tried the other balanced SS amps with balanced Senns and it did not do it for me (other than Richard's SS1!). The soundstaging was amazing. To keep it short, the Apache was the most involving SS amp there IMHO even given short sessions with open cans in a noisy room. Not only is a great balanced and SE SS amp but also serves as a preamp with duel balanced and SE input and one balanced and SE preamp output each.

Where does the Apache fall into the Ray Samuels product line?

Hi Ray,

In order to get a definitive answer to a question being asked in the big meet impressions thread, how many total Apache units are you offering at the introductory price and how many have already been spoken for?

Uh oh!

This one might be my next big purchase. Wait, would a source upgrade be in order first?

I think Asr's pictures are clearer, but here are my pics of the Apache:
